Ntwala's motor-boat trips along the Chobe and Zambezi rivers are excellent for birdlife, and spotting hippos and crocodiles. Relaxed big game from herds of elephants to massive congregations of buffalo are also often seen from the waterfront of Chobe National Park – especially during Botswana's dry season. - View lodge details

Bagatelle's typical Kalahari dunes have good populations of springbok, oryx, giraffe, kudu, steenbok, black-backed jackals, warthogs, brown hyenas and marvelously comical bat-eared foxes. There are several troops of meerkats, including a habituated group. On old oryx and a young springbok frequent the farmstead – both are semi-tame. Mundulea has much more wildlife than a typical Namibian guest farm – including large herds of eland and a recently re-introduced black rhino, giraffe and black-faced impala. It's the centre for interesting research into Namibia's endemic subspecies; if you're interesting and inquisitive, you can expect to learn an immense amount about wildlife here. - View lodge details

The Skeleton Coast lies firmly within the Namib Desert, and much of it is amazingly pristine. Three or four days here allows visitors the priviledge of exploring the varied, and often eddemic, wildlife to be found here – loking at how it has adapted to the various micro-environments to be found here. - View lodge details

Okonjima does some fascinating work with the big cats, and visitors get the change to see much of this up close, so getting much closer views of the big cats than are possible in most places. Desert Rhino Camp is one of the best places in Africa to see black rhino roaming free, and to track them on foot.
