Tamarind add-on

This wonderful 4 night add-on takes you to two beautiful spots in the Zanzibar Archipelago; enjoy the ecologically sensitive Chumbe Island Lodge; a fabulous beach side destination that is both original and stylish, before heading to a hotel near Stone Town to experience the Swahili culture of the island.

This trip includes flights from and back to Dar es Salaam, but no international flights. It is designed to add onto the end of one of our Tanzania safaris to create a great trip with two very separate parts: a bush safari and a beach break.

Days 1-3 South-west Zanzibar, Zanzibar
Chumbe Island After finishing your chosen safari, catch a domestic flight to Zanzibar Airport: en- route look out of the window for some lovely aerial views of the island. A car will meet you and take you to Mbweni Beach: here you connect with a boat and cross to a tiny coral island about 6 miles from the mainland. Within the marine park is situated the beautiful and environmentally conscious…
Chumbe Island (half board)
Learn about the islands geology, flora and fauna on the forest walk, enjoy the beach walks across the inter-tidal zones and go snorkelling on the offshore coral gardens with guides who know the reef well.

Day 4 Stone Town, Zanzibar
From here transfer via boat back to Mbweni beach where you will stay for 1 night. Relax by the pool or take the free shuttle bus into Stone Town and meander through the back streets exploring the wonderful antique shops, colourful markets and old world Arabic architecture whilst based at the charming…
Mbweni Ruins Hotel (bed & breakfast)
Walk around the extensive gardens, lie by the pool and Stone Town during the day, returning in the evening to dine in the lovely restaurant, where your backdrop is the spectacular view across the Indian Ocean.

Day 5
You rise around dawn on your last day, to transfer to Zanzibar Airport for an early flight back to Dar es Salaam. There you connect swiftly to your daytime flight to London with British Airways.

Day 6
You rise around dawn on your last day, to transfer to Zanzibar Airport for an early flight back to Dar es Salaam. There you connect swiftly to your daytime flight to London with British Airways.
