Spotted hyena safari
This is great-value safari combines two of Tanzania's largest safari areas –
Selous Game Reserve and
Ruaha National Park – in southern Tanzania; both parks are different but both offer a wonderful sense or wilderness which you will explore with experienced camp guides, whilst staying stay in unpretentious safari camps:

Arriving early in Dar, you are escorted through to your (45-minute) flight to the Mtemere Airstrip in Selous Game Reserve. | Staying for 4 nights here, you can choose between a range of activities during your days. These include 4WD safsris, walking safaris and also relaxing boat safaris on the Rufiji River and the lakes which connect nearby to it. |

| Spend your 3 nights here exploring the park by 4WD, in a very different environment to the Selous – with different wildlife. You can even simply sit in camp, beside a very scenic stretch of the rocky Great Ruaha River, from where you can often watch hippos splashing in the river. |

After your last morning on safari, you fly to Dar es Salaam, and then either continue onto one of our beach add-on trips, or overnight in the city prior to connecting with your early-morning British Airways flight to London. |

This itinerary includes:• Economy flights, as above, plus UK airport departure taxes.
• All transfers in Africa.
• Current park fees for the national parks: for Selous these are U$75 per person per night, and for Ruaha they are U$65 per person per night.
• Guided safari activities, including 4WD game drives in both parks, plus boat trips and walks in Selous Game Reserve.
• Filtered water/tea/coffee drinks are included, but other drinks are extra.
• A comprehensive pack of information for your trip including a copy of the
Bradt Travel Guide to Zanzibar, Pemba & Mafia which includes a chapter on Selous and Ruaha.
This itinerary excludes:• Tanzanian Departure taxes for internal flights – at about U$6 per flight.
• Any park fee increases over and above the rates that have been included above.
• Laundry at the camps and your drinks (both soft and alcoholic).
• The cost of the armed game rangers used for walks in Ruaha. These are about US$25 per walk (per group, not per person) plus an additional US$10 per person, and must be paid locally.
• Tips and gratuities, which are optional.
