Saffron add-on

Spend 5 nights on the tropical Mnemba Island, enjoying one of the most private locations in Africa whilst staying at the exclusive and first-rate Mnemba Island Lodge; then take a further 2 nights in the luxurious Serena Inn, the best hotel in Stone Town whilst you immerse yourself in the surrounding Swahili culture.

This trip includes flights from and back to Dar es Salaam, but no international flights. It is designed to add onto the end of one of our Tanzania safaris to create a great trip with two very separate parts: a bush safari and a beach break.

Days 1-5 East Coast Zanzibar, Zanzibar
Mnemba Island Lodge After finishing your chosen safari, catch a domestic flight to Zanzibar Airport via Dar es Salaam. Meet your car at the airport and drive for one hour to connect with the boat that takes you across a short stretch of water to Mnemba Island. After 15 minutes you then arrive at…
Mnemba Island Lodge (full board & activities)
Amble around the uninhabited island's perimeter of soft white coral sand, or for the more active take part in a variety of water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing and diving.

Days 6-7 Stone Town, Zanzibar
Serena Inn In the morning, transfer to Stone Town via boat then car whilst soaking up the unique sights and smells of the 'Spice Islands' on the way. On arrival you drive through the heart of the town, to what is generally regarded as the best hotel in Stone Town, the…
Serena Inn (bed & breakfast)
When you are not exploring the labyrinth of alleys and shops in Stone Town, relax in this excellent hotel with first rate facilities and a wonderful view over the Indian Ocean.

Day 8
You rise around dawn on your last day, to transfer to Zanzibar Airport for an early flight back to Dar es Salaam. There you connect swiftly to your daytime flight to London with British Airways.
