Perekani Trail
This innovative trip completes a
10-night walking trail in Zambia's South Luangwa, using two small, high-quality owner-run operations; you'll walk between most of these camps and follow part of the route that David Livingstone took when he journeyed through the area. It's a great walking safari proceeding camp-to-camp through an area with first-class wildlife, seen with the help of some of the Luangwa Valley's top safari guides.

Starting from London Heathrow, your scheduled British Airways overnight flight will take you directly to Lusaka. |
Landing in Lusaka in the morning, you'll connect to a flight to Mfuwe (about 60 minutes) beside South Luangwa. There you'll be met and driven about two hours to the top small camp of Tafika for 2 nights. You should arrive in time for an excellent lunch. |
| Tafika (full board & activities) |
After 2 days of walks and drives from Tafika, you’ll cross the Luangwa River into the walking-only area run by Remote Africa Safaris; there are no roads or vehicles here. Your luggage will be carried for you, and you’ll then walk for 3 hours or so to reach at – |

| Crocodile Bushcamp (full board & activities) |
Today you’ll walk to another, totally different, small Bushcamp – that’s run by another of the Luangwa’s top, small safari operators: Shenton Safaris. Here you’ll base yourself for another 2 nights, to enjoy a choice of walking safaris and 4x4 drives from – |
| Mwamba Bush Camp (full board & activities) |
You could drive to Mwamba’s parent-camp, Kaingo, but instead you’ll probably walk and complete your journey on foot. | Kaingo Camp (full board & activities) |
| Kaingo also has several game hides – one in a tree, one on a boat, one in the river bank; these are especially good for photographers, and patient watchers can to get really close views of the game. |
You'll normally have time for a final walk or game drive before being driven across the park for a couple of hours back to Mfuwe Airport, to catch a short flight back to Lusaka. At Lusaka, you'll be collected by the hotel's courtesy bus and transferred for 1 night to – |
