Bushbaby Safari



This is a perfect safari for families, or groups of friends who wish to travel together – available from April until November, your safari starts in South Luangwa National Park at the Luangwa Safari House, a private house with a top wildlife guide and your own private chef; then continues on to Lower Zambezi National Park, where Chongwe River House is another spectacular private house with the same exclusivity; you'll be guided throughout by top safari guides.

Day 1
Fly from London Heathrow, on your scheduled British Airways overnight flight directly to Lusaka Airport.

Days 2-5 South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
Luangwa Safari House Landing early in Lusaka, you connect onto a 60-minute flight to Mfuwe, beside South Luangwa National Park. You are met on arrival and driven for about 45 minutes, through the villages of Mfuwe, and slightly to the south side of the park. Arriving in time for an excellent brunch, you stay for 4 nights at –
Luangwa Safari House (full board & activities)
Run by Robin Pope Safaris, this impressive house overlooks a semi-permanent waterhole, where game comes to drink. Activities can be organised to your own timetable; the private guide is exclusively yours! With four en-suite bedrooms, a large central living area, a swimming pool and long deck, this house is perfect for families or groups of friends.

Days 6-8 Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia
Chongwe River House After an early morning activity, your guide drives you in an open 4WD to Mfuwe Airport, for a direct flight to Lower Zambezi National Park. Here you will be met and taken to your next safari house. Stay for 3 nights at…
Chongwe River House (full board & activities)
This striking, architect-designed house stands beside the Chongwe, a gentle river that's ideal for canoeing – and includes walking safaris, and day and night game drives. With four en-suite bedrooms and an impressive living area, this is perfect for groups of friends or a family.

Day 9
Waking early this morning, you are taken by 4WD to the airstrip, where a light aircraft is waiting to take you to Lusaka. Once in Lusaka, you transfer straight onto the British Airways international flight back to London, arriving early in the evening after a superb safari.

Please note that the costs for this trip are based on eight people sharing the safari houses; call us for costs for smaller groups.

This itinerary includes:
• Economy flights, as above, plus UK airport departure taxes
• All transfers in Africa
• Your meals and laundry at the safari houses
• All game activities – walks and drives (all in open 4x4 vehicles)
• Park fees at all the safari camps
• Most drinks whilst on safari (including all soft drinks, house wines and local beers & spirits)

This itinerary excludes:
• Champagne, specially imported spirits, fine vintage wines and similarly exotic alcoholic drinks (for which all safari camps & hotels will charge extra)
• Tips and gratuities (which are optional)
• Zambian airport departure taxes ($25 per person for international flights and $8 per person for internal flights)
• Zambian visa fees (currently £75 or $140 per person travelling on a British passport). These are payable in cash on arrival at Lusaka Airport.
