Wolwedans Dune Lodge is a substantial place, with wooden chalets that are built on stilts above the dunes. Each has its own secluded veranda and ensuite shower and toilet. The bedrooms are stunning: solid wooden beds, draped with mosquito nets. When the canvas 'wall' is rolled up, this lets you stargaze from bed, and gives you a front-row view of the sunrise. The hub of the camp is a comfortable bar with leather armchairs, a separate library and a dining room. Meals are usually eaten together with your hosts, around a large table in the dining room, and the food is excellent.
