Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge is perhaps the ultimate in desert luxury, and it appeals to those who love design. The ten large stone-and-glass suites have every comfort – including air conditioning, a glass-panelled bathroom, an outdoor shower for starlight bathing and even your own telescope! (There's often a resident astronomer here to reveal the cosmos, using a professional, computer-controlled telescope.) After you have investigated the lodge's technology, try its activities. These include guided nature walks, drives and quad-bike trips on the reserve.
