One of our favourite places to stay here is the comfortable Sam's Giardino. Run by its enthusiastic owner, Sam, and his dog, Einstein, Sam's has nine spacious rooms.
It's welcoming, slightly offbeat, and our guests invariably love it. Expect extensive breakfasts and the optional evening meal to be accompanied with a wine-tasting.
Many of Sam's helpful staff were originally underprivileged women from a nearby township – who have been helped by an innovative program of training and employment. This shows itself in a very warm welcome and a great atmosphere.

We enjoyed this eccentric place and its owner Sam though would probably have preferred a more authentically local place.
Good if old-fashioned food and a truly memorable breakfast spread.
