Our parent company, Sunvil, have been a tour operator since 1970, and for several years before then as Cyprus Property Tours. That's a very long time for an independent company in the tour operating business!

Sunvil's Africa programme began in 1991, with one of the first programmes to Namibia of any UK tour operator.

In 1994 we expanded to offer a more comprehensive range of Namibia trips, as well as fly-drives to the Cape of South Africa. Since then we have been gradually expanding to offer more countries in sub-Saharan Africa, and more choices within those countries. However, we have been careful to maintain the highest levels of knowledge about our specialist countries, and expertise in travel arrangements there.

In December 2006 we changed our name to Expert Africa, to better reflect what we do, and how we go about doing it. Our management, team and everything else remained the same.

Our trips are fully-bonded through the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL 5206) and all holidays in this web site conform with the bonding requirements of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) – of which we are a member. Complete financial protection is thus assured.
