We are obviously well aware that Nairobi is not in Rwanda!

As the capital of Kenya we use Nairobi as our gateway airport to Africa for trips to Rwanda, from where you will connect onto a flight to Kigali.

Depending on the timings of the flights from London Heathrow to Nairobi, you may well have to spend a night in Nairobi as part of an itinerary to Rwanda – hence its inclusion here.

It is probably not high on the list of destinations that people want to visit, but we are lucky enough to have found two pretty good places that we can highly recommend if staying in Nairobi becomes part of your trip to Rwanda.

Macushla House is a charming guesthouse and has long been a favorite of ours. Many travellers report back saying that they wish that they had spent two nights here not the customary one night. If you are looking for something truly luxurious then Palacina – The Residence and The Suites may be what you are after.
