Livingstone & Victoria Falls

 - Zambia

For many years we've recognised Livingstone as the perfect location from which to visit the great Victoria Falls. However, Livingstone's few small bush lodges have until recent years been eclipsed by the busier Zimbabwean town of Victoria Falls. Now Livingstone has rised to the challenge: it's the best side to visit and there's never been a better time to visit!

Activities around the Falls

There are many activities that we can arrange in this area, from bungee-jumping to a scenic 'flight of angels' over the great waterfall. One popular choice for a special occasion is a champagne breakfast on Livingstone Island (which is literally in the middle of the Falls). Many can be arranged when you arrive, or by us before you get there. Just call our team for details, and to discuss the many options available.

Accommodation near the Falls

Our suggestions for accommodation split neatly into three very different sides of the Livingstone area:

Beside the Falls stand two large sister-hotels: the Royal Livingstone Hotel and it's less costly sibling, the Zambezi Sun. Both are usually booked on a B&B basis, with no activities included.

Upstream of the Falls there are several excellent small lodges overlooking the Zambezi. These intimate, quiet places are smaller and more costly than the hotels, but your stay usually includes all your meals and some activities.

These include Tongabezi, Sindabezi, The River Club and the Islands of Siankaba.

Above The Gorges are is an interesting, community-oriented lodge with a spectacular view over the Zambezi's steep gorges below the Falls: Songwe Village. Again, your stay here usually includes all your meals and some activities.
